I don't mind it, though I think it obviously does favour clubs with more high quality players (ie. the richer ones) for obvious reasons.
The rule change I want to see trialled is having the game on a stopwatch to make timewasting harder.

I think it's great.
Not only will it allow clubs to blood YOOFS a bit easier, it also allows teams to have GAMERCHANGERS to bring on similar to rugby.
Not sure we'll benefit unless Moyes has a drastic change over the way he uses subs though.

No.
It very much favours the bigger and wealthier teams, those that can afford to keep top players out of the first team. In its own way, it simply stretches the chasm between the haves and the have-nots.
I just don't see the need for the change.

They can still only make subs 3 times in a match, so it probably won't make much difference to added on time.

This is going to mean the games will last longer.

Looking at average subs per game from last season, we were 2nd lowest, behind Man City (who constantly rotate their squad, unlike us). We were also 2nd lowest in terms of average game time for the subs we did make, as they usually came on so late.

I'm still on the fence about this, I mean it was inevitable anyway as that's how it's gone recently in Europe etc and kind of fits in with the modern game. With 7 subs I suppose it was a bit daft that you could only use 3 of them. As for will it benefit the bigger teams, possibly, but not convinced. Let's see first of all how often all 5 are used.

Changes the game quite dramatically. Massively favours those teams with multiple high quality players for one position. Enables those squads to keep more good.players happy by offering more game time.
I'm not looking forward to it from a West Ham perspective, as I don't believe we have the quality in the squad to benefit from it.
But putting a neutral's hat on...it just makes it different. Don't see it as making it better or worse as a game. But I think it will increase disparity between the club's that can have more high quality players on their books.

It certainly doesn't favour us, given Moyes' usual lack of proactivity on the subs front. When it was 5 subs during lockdown we were one of the clubs who made fewest subs, and I don't see that changing.

Is our squad big enough to have 5 subs on the bench?
